The Best Poolside Drinks to Sip on This Summer

When you think summertime relaxation, what exactly comes to mind? Hanging out in a hammock, maybe. Sipping on beer at the patio of your favorite brewery, perhaps. But above all other summer relaxation, laying out by or playing in the pool comes out on top. The only thing more refreshing than sitting on the edge of the pool or floating on your favorite trendy flotation device is doing so with a perfect summer drink in hand.

Fun Drinks Poolside

Summer drinks are all about the fruit flavors and flower garnishes. Yes, it's time to unleash your inner fancy-drink lover for the maximum tropical poolside experience. Here are some of our favorite easy and delicious poolside cocktails to sip on while you soak up those rays.

Summertime Drinks: Peach Bellini

A simple but classy option, peach bellinis offer a fruity, light poolside option that isn't heavy on alcohol. For the perfect peach bellini, mix 4 oz. prosecco and 2 oz. peach puree. Add a peach slice for garnish and tada – instant refreshment.

Another Summertime Favorite: Grapefruit Spritz

For something a little more adventurous, try a grapefruit spritz. With 1 oz. vodka, 1 oz. Lillet Blanc, 2 grapefruit slices and a sprig of thyme over ice, you've got an instantly refreshing option with an herbal twist from the thyme.

Tangerine Mojito

A citrus twist on a summertime staple, this tangerine mojito will tantalize your taste buds with the refreshing mint flavor and leave you feeling energized with the tangerine notes. To make one for yourself, muddle sugar and 6 mint leaves in the bottom of a glass. Add 1 tablespooon lime juice, ½ cup tangerine juice and stir thoroughly. After the base is fully mixed, add ice cubes and 1/3 cup white rum. Top off with club soda or seltzer and garnish with tangerine slices and fresh mint leaves. These amounts will serve two so you can get hook your friend up or double fist depending on what kind of day it is.

Gin and Tonic

A classic, and for good reason. This refreshing combo pairs perfectly with a lime and avoids the sugar rush that comes with some of the other more tropical poolside drinks. A cool and delicious gin and tonic is perfect for all day sipping. Timeless, classy, and oh-so-simple to make.

Iced Tea Sangria

If you haven't made a batch of sangria, is it even really summer yet? White sangria is perfect for the hot summer months because it uses chilled white wine in addition to all the typical sangria ingredients. This particular recipe calls for white wine, iced tea, and fresh fruit of your choice. Strawberries and mango are a delicious option, but berries, oranges, lemons, and limes are also popular summertime fruit options.  For this recipe, you'll need 4 cups fresh brewed iced tea, 2 cups white wine, honey or simple syrup, and 2 cups chopped fresh fruit. Combine all ingredients and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. As an alternative, you can wait to add the fruit until right before serving.

With this lineup, your summertime sipping schedule should fill up pretty quickly. You're officially ready to enjoy your pool to the maximum enjoyment capacity with a drink in hand the whole time.
